At The Mike Shop of your choice, we want our customers to have the opportunity to feel comfortable in their vehicle. You can leave the repairs and services to our professionals, but please don't hesitate to ask us questions about why a service is needed or how it occurred. Stop by or call the Mike shop of your choice to talk to one of our friendly and professional technicians. Here is some valuable information on brake issues and corrective services The Mike Shop of your choice offers.

Anti-Lock Brake System
Anti-lock Brake Systems (ABS) ensure that the wheels don't stop rotating during braking, preventing the car from skidding and offering greater control. If your ABS light comes on, visit The Mike Shop of your choice where we will be happy to diagnose and fix the problem.

Brake Fluid Flushes
Brake fluid will absorb water from the air over time, causing the brake system to become less effective and the fluid to become corrosive, possibly damaging the system. It is important to perform a brake fluid flush regularly to ensure that your vehicle is using fresh fluid. Talk to our technicians at The Mike Shop of your choice about when it's time for a brake fluid flush.

Brake Hoses
A brake hose is a tube carrying pressurized brake fluid from the master cylinder to the brakes. A crushed hose can cause a lagged or slow brake, and a leak in the hose can cause the brake, or the entire brake system, to fail. These don't need to be replaced often, but should be replaced at the first sign of cracking or wear.

Brake Pad & Shoe Replacement
Brake pad problems can usually be identified by squealing brakes. If your brake pads deteriorate completely, you'll hear a grinding metal-on-metal sound when braking, meaning that it's too late and you're ruining your rotors or drums! Those with knowledge of auto repair may be able to fix this at home, but you should always see an auto repair professional immediately if you have brake problems.

Caliper Replacement
The brake caliper houses your brake pads and fits around the rotor like a clamp, pressing the pads against the rotor when you brake. A brake caliper problem could cause uneven braking, making your car slide forward when you brake. Uneven braking can also cause your vehicle to slide out of control in bad weather conditions, so contact The Mike Shop of your choice as soon as possible.

Resurface Rotors
In a disc brake system, rotors are attached to your vehicle's wheels. When the brake pads grip the rotor, they bring both the rotor and wheels to a stop. However, the friction causes grooves and cracks to appear over time. Resurfacing brings the rotor back to a "like-new" condition, reducing squealing and wobbling. The Mike Shop of your choice will give your rotors a thorough inspection and recommend your best course of action.

I have done my own brakes for the last, well pretty much since I have been driving. On rare occasion I run into issues with seized bolts. This was one of those times. Not knowing how I was going to break it loose, I put my car back together and headed to MIKE's. When I arrived I explained my problem and I asked them for a favor, they said "no problem, give us a few minutes". They were able to get one loose but the other one was so seized it broke off. They took the time and was able to remove it and replace it with a new bolt. I asked them how much I owed them and they said "on the house", I COULDN'T BELIEVE it, nothing is ever free. I thanked them so much and was on my way to complete my project. I got home and loosened my lug nuts well all but one, it only turned 1/4 turn and stopped. I couldn't believe it (what else was going to go wrong). I secured everything and headed back over to their shop and explained what happened. They took a look again and sure enough my lug sheared off when they tried to remove it. At this point I was just done with it. I scheduled an appointment for later in the day to come back to get it fixed and to have THEM replace my brakes. After all I had to wait for my order to come in from the auto part store (that I shall not name since they sold me the wrong parts amongst other things, to long to go into it). I arrived for my appointment, they got my car in shortly after that and after about an hour my car was done. Again I asked what do I owe you? Again he said "no charge, just leave us a good review" I said "come on man, I have to pay you something" he said "the review would be just fine". Again, my mind was blown. Now, everything they do is not free but what they didn't know is in the last 24 hours I have had my Uncle pass away, my daughters windshield cracked ($500 repair), shower faucet start spewing water everywhere, was sold the wrong parts at the auto part store ($400 for parts), seized bolts I could not remove, then a broken bolt, then a sheared of lug nut, confusion and anger when I picked up my correct parts from said auto part store! and finally the frustration of not being able to change my brakes myself (which I quite enjoy doing lol) and to have them turn around and get me out of this Jam and ask for no $. KUDOS TO THEM!!! The managers and staff have earned a customer for life and and I will recommend them to anyone I hear asking around about a mechanic, AND THEY PRETTY MUCH DO EVERYTHING!!! Please give this company your business they know how to treat a custom right!!! All I can say is THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! You don't know how much it meant to me. Sincerely,

Got my brakes and rotors fixed and he did a little price adjustment, great and honest people.

Thank you and bless you, I am truly thankful and grateful for this service center. I took my car here for rear brakes and rotors due to taking it to the dealership for a routine oil change and the dealership informed me I need my rear brakes changed along with a list of other things (that wasn't needed). Not only did this service center verify it wasn't needed but my car is driving better than it was when I dropped it off due to the work that was done. I had work done at a dealer service center a week ago which left my car driving worse when I picked it up. I say that to say you can trust them, you can trust this service center, and I will continue to come here and recommend my family, friends and colleagues because of the honesty which is definitely hard to come by and find. Plus the price is reasonable (a win, win).
